FAQ

Do you only offer online therapy?

I offer both in-person and online therapy. While in-person is recommended, teletherapy is provided as an alternative and convenient option.

How long is a session?
Sessions are 50 minutes for individual therapy; 75 minutes for couples therapy.
Do you accept insurance?

I do not currently accept insurance.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Clients must cancel 24 hours before their scheduled appointment. Sessions are payable if cancelled within 24 hours.

However, late cancellations may be rescheduled within the same week at no charge, permitting availability.

What age are your clients?

I see adults, 20 years of age and above.

What types of problems do you work with?

I work primarily with women (and men) around poor self- esteem, anxiety, depression, dysfunctional family patterns and codependency (interactions in relationships that negatively impact one’s wellbeing).

Do you work with people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions?

I do. I understand the distinct experiences of cultural expectations. Understanding that cultures inherit their consciousness through generations enables me to stay within the framework of what clients need and is best for them.

How long does therapy take before I see results?

Progress differs from person to person, dependent upon the processing of new information in sessions. Time will inform how much integration has taken place and the changes implemented. Hence, ending therapy may be solely your decision or a collaborative one.

What are the risks and benefits of doing therapy?

Risks can include worsened moods as you wade through experiences before integrating and balancing emotionally. Benefits can include behaviors aligning with core values, eventually feeling emotional balance, lightness, and ease.

Additionally, what you might consider a risk (loss) and a benefit (gain) include the changes you make due to your growth. Those changes could include breaking up with a partner who doesn’t ‘fit’ anymore or falling out with a friend who continually disrespects you.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

If you resonate with what you need here, it’s a start. After our initial complimentary consultation, you’ll get a better idea if you wish to move forward with sessions or not.

What is coaching vs. therapy?

Coaching is more forward and future-oriented, more directional, instructional, and goal- and results-based. Coaching works more with your potential, ‘pushing through’ any feelings you may have. My approach as a coach incorporates feelings while we address the other sides of you in the struggle.

Therapy is more an oriented and thought-provoking process where we wade through past experiences that have had negative consequences. We make connections from current behaviors to past experiences and root causes.

My use of coaching and therapy depends on the needs of the client.

Do you prescribe medications?
MFT licensure does not include the ability to prescribe medications. Medical doctors (psychiatrists, primary care physicians, etc.) can prescribe medications to their clients.
